Kith Lim and Hang Chao were two refugees who came to Australia in 1980 with nothing more than their clothes.

They met each other shortly after arriving in Australia and bonded from their experience of escaping the Cambodian Civil War.

Kith and Hang realised there was a niche in the market for an asian grocery to provide refugees the opportunity to enjoy food from where they originated.

The owners worked multiple jobs to keep themselves and their small asian grocery store operating.

Kith and Hang worked over 10 hours a day and 7 days a week for years.

The only silver lining was that every week Asian Grocery slowly gained more and more repeat customers.

They were able to drop each of the additional jobs they had one by one giving them the chance to focus on their business.

Asian Grocery reach a point where change was needed, if Kith and Hang wanted to expand their business.

An option to them at the time was to start importing asian food from various countries around the world.

Asian Grocery became Asian Food Wholesalers.
